Any stranger passing by my husband, myself, and our rainbow girl would think we are a perfectly happy, complete family, just as I have frequently thought the same of others. I feel that one of the greatest lessons I have learned from the loss of a baby is that it is impossible to know what may be going on in the lives of the numerous strangers we encounter every day. Maybe that grumpy sales clerk is going through something terrible and just barely making it through the day. My own brokenness is a constant reminder to be more aware of other people's feelings.
